Facelift recently worked with offshore service company Oceanteam to help them survey a huge ‘A’ frame based on their multi-functional cable installation barge, the 92 metre CLB Explorer.
The barge is used for the laying of power cables on the seabed and also has a large cable burial plough on deck which is overboarded to the seabed to plough the cables to required depth for protection. The ‘A’ frame serves as the launch and recovery device for the plough.

South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands (SGSSI) is a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic. The islands are remote with a harsh climate. Morrison’s has been commissioned by the SGSSI Government to build a hydro electric scheme to serve the area of Grytviken and King Edward Point. The scheme, with approval from the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, will make this the first UK overseas territory to be almost completely supplied with energy from a green and renewable source.

Caterpillar Inc., Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) and Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi Ltd. (SCM) have signed definitive agreements that include a share redemption plan which will result in Caterpillar owning 67 percent of SCM. The business will be renamed Caterpillar Japan when the first phase of the deal closes, expected to be in the third quarter of 2008.

Tarmac has signed a major contract with Masternaut Three X for a specifically developed web-based satellite-tracking solution for its fleet of aggregate vehicles. Masternaut will be implemented throughout Tarmac’s Aggregates Products Division, which provides sand, gravel, rock, asphalt and ready-mixed concrete to the building and road construction industries nationwide.

China is the world's largest market for mobile hydraulic cranes, accounting for more than 70% of all mobile hydraulic units produced in 2006. Tower cranes and mobile hydraulic cranes are in very high demand in China, with the domestic construction market expected to grow at compounded annual nominal growth rate of 18.1% through 2016, according to Global Insight, with infrastructure segment spending expected to grow 26% in 2008.
