Ringway signs a contract with North Yorkshire County Council(13/02/2012)
Ringway will provide term maintenance and improvement services to North Yorkshire County Council and its highways network. The signed contract, worth circa £250 million, will begin in April 2012, and could potentially see Ringway servicing the county for the next 10 years. The A417 and A419 together form a strategic link between the M4 and M5, connecting Swindon, Cirencester, Cheltenham and Gloucester, and longer distance destinations via the two motorway corridors. Ringway has been awarded a seven year contract for maintenance services on the A417/419 which runs from the M4 in North Wiltshire, over the Cotswolds, to the M5 in Gloucestershire. The Staniland Primary School, based in Boston, Lincolnshire, ran a competition for its pupils to design a road safety plan for the area which had to cover all modes of transport from cars and lorries, to cyclists and pedestrians. Five divisions of Ringway have been deployed on the thoroughfare linking the Mall, from the gates of Buckingham Palace to Constitution Hill, on a £400,000 surfacing contract for The Royal Parks.
