Stolen Scania truck recovered in minutes – thanks to Quartix vehicle tracking

Police have recovered a stolen 7-tonne Scania truck in less than an hour – helped by Quartix vehicle tracking technology. The valuable HIAB-equipped lorry, operated by Mid-Kent Electrical Engineering of Sittingbourne, was spotted on the A2 near Cobham. Aided by the tracking system, pursuing police were quickly able to intercept it and arrest the driver. Quartix has celebrated its tenth anniversary. With vehicle tracking-system sales approaching 2,000 units a month, the Newtown and Cambridge company believes it has become the UK’s top telematics provider. Quartix Pay As You Go vehicle tracking system saves costs for Canute Group

The Canute Group operates a fleet of some 750 purpose-made vehicles. Canute has equipped more than 300 of its 750 vehicles with Quartix Pay As You Go vehicle tracking – resulting in annual cost savings of around £300,000. The £100million company, with sites across the UK and Ireland, turned to Quartix after trialling two different systems.
