Seddons acquires engine and generator specialists Brownpower Engineering
(05/03/2008)
Seddons Plant & Engineers have announced the acquisition of Brownpower Engineering, the Rugby-based engine and generator specialists. Brownpower will continue to operate independently within the Seddon Group – one of the UK’s largest privately owned construction groups.
The acquisition combines two of the UK’s strongest power equipment and engine distributors. Seddons Plant & Engineers are the leading UK Honda Engine dealer, distributing parts, engines, and equipment such as the TD500 Tracked Dumper in association with Honda Power Equipment. Other internationally known brands represented by Seddons include Stihl, Winget and Volvo, and these are supplied to customers throughout the UK, earning Seddons a reputation for excellent customer service.
Brownpower is a supplier of Portable Generators and supplies many industries including Hire, Construction, Leisure, Exhibitions, Motorsport and Mobile Catering. Its client base includes Formula One Teams, The Ministry of Defence and the Police.
The combined expertise of the two companies will not only provide additional staff to help customers identify parts and engines, but also the ability to educate and increase customers’ knowledge of Honda technology. Customers will also benefit from enhanced availability and quicker service.
Stephen Seddon, MD of Seddons Plant & Engineers, comments: “This new relationship is consistent with our growth and acquisition strategy, and we are delighted to be able to partner such a strong player in the U.K. The Brownpower team has built an exciting and dynamic business that complements the heritage and experience of Seddons Plant & Engineers.
