Wellsville Foundry Establishes New Business Unit for Replacement Wear Parts

Wellsville Foundry, which specializes in high-performance castings for high-wear environments, has established a new business unit to supply a broad range of high-wear, and high-impact replacement parts for equipment used in construction, mining, manufacturing – virtually every sector that uses replacement components.

Wellsville supplies OEM and replacement castings weighing 35 grams to 1800 lbs. in short to medium runs. A recent facility expansion, which preceded the new business unit, includes a full melt lab and extensive metallographic capability. It allows the company to focus on prototyping, manufacturing and testing wear parts in a broad range of materials.

The foundry expansion also provides added capacity for casting two new proprietary Wellsville materials, WD3 and WD3+. Both are ductile iron-based alloys delivering 3-5X the service life of standard ductile or gray iron in sliding friction tests.
