Bachy Soletanche relocates anchor, grouting and mini-pile division in West Yorkshire

Bachy Soletanche has celebrated the re-launch of its Anchor, Grouting and Mini-pile business division with the official opening of its new office in Wakefield, West Yorkshire earlier this month.

This latest move provides the team with essential resources and capabilities to expand within the sector. It also creates a Yorkshire base for general regional enquiries along with Bachy Soletanche's other regional offices in Hampshire, Scotland, Ireland and headquarters in Lancashire.

Better known for its large rotary and continuous flight auger piling schemes, Bachy Soletanche has years of experience in a variety of other groundwork sectors including small diameter processes. By relocating the experienced and dedicated Anchor, Grouting and Mini-pile division to a new office and location, there is the opportunity to increase the clients understanding of Bachy Soletanche's full technique portfolio.

As Daniel Barnard, who jointly heads up the team alongside Clif Kettle and Richard Piggin, explained: "It is more important than ever to expand on such capabilities, from projects that are technically demanding to the simple routine jobs. The re-launch of our business division will therefore provide improved tender, design and management facilities for our clients. We are pleased to have such an opportunity and believe our presence in Yorkshire will additionally secure projects within this region."

Bachy Soletanche has used such techniques on a number of major projects throughout the years. Recent projects, such as the two and a half year King's Cross St Pancras Underground Station expansion, where Bachy Soletanche successfully designed and delivered a complex compensation grouting project, is a fine example. The firm has also recently completed mini piling works on the East London Line Regeneration scheme at Surrey Quays station, installed ground anchors into the base of a 30m deep water storage tank at Barrow-in-Furness and conducted essential remedial works at Lower Carno Dam in Wales, installing a grout curtain wall and sealing the interface of a culvert and surrounding clay by grouting.

The office will also house the newly acquired Simplex Foundations team which continues to trade under the same name. Bachy Soletanche purchased the firm from Norwest Holst, gaining an increased rig fleet and its skilled, experienced engineers.
