OilQuick automatic quick coupler systems allow operators to change attachments without leaving their cabs
(25/11/2009)
Pacific Plant has been operating as a supplier to its sister business, Bond Demolition, for the last twenty years. During that time the industry has evolved significantly; one of the most positive changes has been the development of products such as the OilQuick range of quick coupler systems which have quite simply revolutionised the way the Pacific Plant does business.
OilQuick is suitable for excavators from 1 to 120 tons and the process can be done in one easy motion. As well as excavators, systems can also be used with wheel loaders, lift trucks, recycling machines and cranes.
Managing Director Paul Wells explained: “I was first attracted to OilQuick’s products when I heard that they could save me money and time – and they certainly did just that. OilQuick quick couplers allow operators to change attachments on their machines without having to leave their cabs. Typically these changes can be made in just 10 seconds, crucially without having to disconnect the pipes or lose oil. This reduces my down time due to burst hoses and eliminates expensive hose repair bills.
“I would recommend OilQuick to any business that needs to change attachments quickly and efficiently. I think that, given time, 90% of the demolition industry will be using OilQuick to help streamline their processes. One machine can utilise several attachments in one day with minimum effort and downtime, ensuring the correct attachment is used in each application.”
Paul also says that it’s not just an improvement for the business but also for the employees, with important health and safety benefits. “It’s safer for them to stay in the cab and change the attachment instead of having to go onto the site where the demolition work is taking place, disconnect the pipes carrying the hydraulic oil and then add the coupling device needed”.
More than 5,000 OilQuick systems have been sold across Europe and the USA and their market share is continuing to grow. The benefits are passed on to the demolition companies’ customers; they gain from a more efficient and effective demolition service and, during these tough economic times, this really is helping companies to lighten their load.
