ISG Jackson builds affordable homes for Swan Housing Group
(27/11/2009)
ISG Jackson has completed a £4 million project to build affordable houses and apartments in Southend-on-Sea, Essex for Swan Housing Group. The project is part of a £400 million, four year framework deal that the affordable homes provider has initiated to increase its property portfolio across Essex and East London.
This latest project has seen ISG Jackson re-develop several sites across the town, which were formally occupied by garage blocks. Following the demolition of the existing structures, a range of traditionally constructed houses and flats were built providing up to four-bedroom, contemporary accommodation. The designs of the new homes feature brick and timber clad façades and the entire development has achieved a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 standard.
Michael Manning, director of ISG Jackson's Living division, commented: "Our latest project for Swan Housing Group highlights the real success of schemes that aim to develop underused sites within towns. Local Councils are increasingly working hand in hand with housing associations to maximise the opportunities presented by infill sites, developing much needed affordable housing schemes.”
