Construction starts on Hurst Community College extension in Basingstoke

Amiri Construction has commenced work in the £580,000 contract awarded by Hampshire County Council. The single storey building will provide accommodation for the Adult Safe Learning centre when completed in early spring. The project is designed by Hampshire County Council’s Architects and the costs are being managed by Winchester based Selway Joyce Partnership.
Grahame Pettit, Managing Director at Amiri, said that the company was delighted to have the opportunity to ensure that the college, which holds specialist science status, receives the necessary high quality of work to provide an excellent learning environment for the adults within the local community.
Launched in 2005, the £17.8 million turnover company has gained in excess of £10 million worth of contracts within the education sector.
