O&H Hampton has announced it has reached the half way stage in building the Hampton development. O&H Hampton has been managing and developing the site since 1997 and the project is planned to continue until at least 2017, providing new homes, state of the art education and community facilities and over 12,000 jobs within its retail, commercial and industrial areas. A total of 6,900 homes will be built to form the township on the 2,500 acre brownfield site just south of Peterborough.

The 3,450th home has recently been sold to the Manyanga family who have just moved in. Originally from Zimbabwe, both John and Euphemia Manyanga work as engineers for a local consulting engineering company in offices at Cygnet Park, Hampton’s 67 acre business park opposite Serpentine Green shopping centre.

Mrs Manyanga commented: “We decided to move to Hampton because we liked the open spaces and family friendly layout of the entire development. The lakes and footpaths provide pleasant walks for families. Our house is also of a very high environmental standard which provides good peace of mind, knowing that we live in a house that is environmentally friendly.”

The house is part of a Charles Church Homes development, one of the country’s foremost house-building brands. This particular development, Grosvenor Gardens, is located on Freshwater Road, off West Lake Avenue in Hampton and is a development of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached executive homes.

Under O&H Hampton management, Hampton delivers up to 500 homes per year working with approximately 20 different house builders providing a wide choice of design for the public.

Roger Tallowin, general manager O&H Hampton, commented: “This is a major milestone for O&H Hampton. Tremendous effort and hard work has been put into the development by all involved, allowing us to proudly reach this half way point. I would like to congratulate Mr and Mrs Manyanga for becoming residents in our half way home and I look forward to witnessing Hampton continue to develop successfully.”

Since the original planning permission for 6,900 homes was granted, additional homes have been approved at nearby Hempsted which is also being developed by O&H Hampton.
