(27/01/2010)
Turner San Diego has announced that it recently completed the construction of 1Mission, a mixed-use, mid-rise in historic Mission Hills.
Located in the historic Mission Hills business district, 1Mission includes 94,000 square feet of luxury residential space. The project features 13 two-story townhomes with street-level entrances and 48 single-level flats. There are more than 30 floor plans, ranging from one-bedroom/one bath to three-bedroom/three bath, and ranging from 1,057 to 2,671 square feet. 1Mission's retail component consists of 5,150 square feet of new retail space, and a meticulously restored historic commercial block with street-level shops and restaurants, totaling 25,000 square feet of retail space. The project also features a public/private urban garden designed by Spurlock Poirier Landscape Architects of San Diego, and a pedestrian promenade.
The project brings together the restoration of a turn-of-the century commercial block and a new five story residential building with 61 luxury residences. Developed by CLB Partners and designed by M.W. Steele Group, Turner Construction completed 1Mission on schedule.
Jamie Awford, Vice President and General Manager of Turner Construction, says, "CLB's extraordinary vision created a tremendous asset for an area of San Diego rich with history. We overcame many challenges on this project, including building the project with very tight site constraints, quality requirements with high level finishes, meeting the budget and schedule demands in a tough market, as well as maintaining great relationships with the local community throughout the process. The key was our strong relationship with CLB and M.W. Steele to work through issues and collaborate on solutions to meet all the goals on the project."
