Leadbitter expands its Strategic Initiatives Team
(04/02/2010)
The Leadbitter Group has expanded its Strategic Initiatives Team following a successful first year for the Group-wide business development and management unit.
The Strategic Initiatives Team was established 12 months ago to develop Group-wide business opportunities within major programmes in the education, health and housing sectors, such as Building Schools for the Future (BSF), the Express LIFT framework and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) partnership panel.
The team has already spearheaded several major successes, including securing Leadbitter’s inclusion on the new £4 billion Partnership for Schools (PfS) National Contractors’ Framework and being awarded two BSF projects in Kent. The expansion of Strategic Initiatives Team (SIT) is designed to build on this success and includes the following appointments:
Phil Porter has been promoted to Group Strategic Initiatives Director and will be primarily responsible for maximising the Group’s PfS, BSF and PFI opportunities, while managing the expanded team and reporting directly into the Group Board.
Darren Welch, Head of Business Development for the Group’s Eastern Region (Denne), has taken on a Group-wide role as Strategic Initiatives Manager for Housing. Darren will manage a Group approach to PFI/PPP housing, elderly care and regeneration opportunities.
Graham Lambert will continue to manage the PfS initiative, as well as securing new opportunities within the health sector, in his capacity as Strategic Initiatives Manager for Construction.
Mike Haines has joined the SIT in the capacity of Sector Development Manager to identify and access new markets for the Group and increase market share in targeted sectors.
