The Leadbitter Group recently welcomed potential suppliers at a special event, hosted at Marlborough Enterprise Business Centre in Woodstock, to discuss partnering with the company in future work.

The event was arranged as an introductory forum for potential suppliers and trades people, such as bricklayers, carpenters and plasterers in the local area, who were invited along to find out about Leadbitter and its future contracts. The Group is looking for experienced and qualified companies as long-term partners for its projects planned over the next two-to-three years.

Mike Burton, Director of Leadbitter’s Special Projects Division, said: “We are looking to build long-term partnerships with suppliers who can deliver the high level of quality and expertise on which Leadbitter’s reputation is based and become trusted members of our supply chain.
This event was an opportunity for local specialist contractors to meet us and learn more about Leadbitter. It was a very successful day, which saw more than 70 different companies visit – many more than we had expected.”

The next stage of the process involves a vetting procedure whereby Leadbitter will carry out checks to find out which of those companies registering an interest meet its stringent criteria in order to become approved suppliers.

Projects already in Leadbitter’s order book include:
- Scientific support refurbishment at the headquarters of the Thames Valley Police, Kidlington
- Alterations and refurbishment of St Birinus School, Didcot
- Refurbishment and new build at Cardinal House Care Home in Littlemore, Oxford
- Construction of new facility for Burghfield Children’s Centre, based at Mrs Bland's Infant and Nursery School, Burghfield Common, Reading
- Construction of new facility for Tilehurst Children’s Centre, based at Downsway Primary School, Tilehurst
- Construction of a new extension for Chalgrove Children’s Centre, based at Chalgrove Primary School, as well as internal alterations and refurbishment of the existing building
