The stations are Kew Gardens – District and Overground, West Brompton – District, Overground and mainline rail, Queens Park – Bakerloo Line and Overground, Blackhorse Road – Victoria Line and Overground, Harlesden – Bakerloo Line and Overground, Stonebridge Park – Bakerloo Line and Overground, Wembley Central – Bakerloo Line, Overground and mainline rail, North Wembley – Bakerloo Line and Overground, South Kenton – Bakerloo Line and Overground, Kenton – Bakerloo Line and Overground, Harrow and Wealdstone – Bakerloo Line, Overground and mainline rail, Kensal Green – Bakerloo line and Overground, and Gunnersbury – District Line and Overground.

Transport for London (TFL) awarded the Nursling company with the £1.8m contract to complete installation, refurbishment and repair on the former Silverlink Stations which are all used by London Underground, London Overground, Southern Trains and London Midland.

The Dyer & Butler project team were on site just 10 days after the 32 week contract was awarded and met all contractual key dates despite unforeseen environmental issues such as asbestos, Japanese knot weed and slow worms.

“The team has completed a total of 6138 man hours on the eight month project and the results are fantastic. As well as essential structural improvements, staff can now enjoy much improved working conditions with the cosmetic changes we’ve made,” said Dyer & Butler project manager Andy Taylor.

Dyer & Butler was tasked with a range of works throughout the stations, ticket offices, public areas and back of house areas. The work included new waiting rooms, new pigeon proof netting to the platform canopies, complete refurbishment of mess rooms, kitchens, and toilets as well as new staff equipment and accommodation buildings.

London Underground senior project manager Stephan (Helal) Stephan said “It has been a real pleasure for my project team to work with Dyer & Butler. It proved to be a construction company that is delivery focused and one I would be pleased to work with again.”
