Denne, part of the Leadbitter Group, has completed an affordable housing development of 15 houses and nine apartments at Beulah Hill in Upper Norwood, South East London on behalf of Moat, a leading housing association.

The project in SE19 called Stonebridge Mews, includes an apartment building containing eight homes for shared ownership and one for affordable rent, as well as 15 houses, also available for affordable rent. Ten of the houses have roof mounted solar panels for heating hot water and the overall development has achieved 10% onsite renewable energy generation. As a result of these initiatives the development achieved an EcoHomes Excellent rating.

Constructed using a timber frame system, homes are clad with facing brick work and rendered block work. Due to the sloping nature of the site, retaining walls were used to level the site and a pumped drainage system was incorporated for both foul water and surface water.

Graham Brown, Managing Director, Denne, said: “We are delighted to have handed over these high quality affordable homes. At Denne we have a proven track record of delivering affordable housing, residential developments and regeneration schemes. We are the largest Kent-based contractor and as such have developed extensive expertise in this sector and constantly strive to gain new knowledge and to fully understand the needs of our Clients, delivering schemes that maximise value, achieve certainty of delivery and exceed expectations.”

Steve Nunn, Executive Director: Development and New Business at Moat, said: “We are thrilled that these new homes have been completed and that the new residents have now moved in. We are always very pleased to be able to provide affordable homes to local people, particularly in areas where there is a shortage of high quality affordable housing. We hope residents will be happy in their new homes for many years to come.”
