ISG Jackson Special Projects refurbishes commercial office accommodation in Ipswich
(12/05/2010)
ISG Jackson Special Projects has secured a £300K project to refurbish commercial office accommodation on Arcade Street in Ipswich for client Associated Property Owners Ltd. In addition to carrying out a comprehensive programme of refurbishment across the three-storey structure, the contractor will reinstate dividing walls and return the property to its original form as two self contained buildings.
A systematic internal strip out of the building is ongoing as ISG Jackson Special Projects upgrades both the decoration and mechanical & electrical services within the structure. In addition to reinstating dividing walls within the property, the contractor will also build a dividing wall to the rear of the building and rebuild an existing boundary wall.
The high specification accommodation across the two buildings comprises a number of individual office areas, with modern kitchen and welfare facilities. Negotiations are already underway with a firm of local solicitors to take space in one of the buildings, with a high degree of interest expected for the remaining unit. Externally, the building’s façade will be repainted, with repairs made to the existing sash windows. The project is scheduled for completion in July.
Stuart Talbot, divisional director for ISG Jackson Special Projects, commented: “Increasing demand for high specification commercial office accommodation within Ipswich town centre is generating a growing number of refurbishment opportunities for the business. Despite the prevailing economic conditions, landlords and developers are recognising the importance of maintaining the value of their property portfolios, translating into a greater volume of opportunities in the marketplace.”
