Ashleigh wins Silver NHBC Health and Safety Award
(31/05/2010)
Ashleigh is the only Scottish company to have received the Silver Award at the NHBC Health and Safety Awards, which is only conferred on companies who have undergone a thorough audit of their health and safety procedures and clearly demonstrated that they meet the required levels of competence.
In addition Ashleigh had two site managers commended for the best site category awards. Jimmy Phillips for the site at Milngavie for Bield Housing Association and Gary Hines at March Fields, Dumfries for Persimmon Homes.
Gary Hines went on to be recognised with the award of 3 categories. The site was highly commended, then the best Scottish site and finally the ultimate accolade to become the first employee of a Scottish company ever to win the National NHBC Health and Safety award for the UK, for his work in March Fields, Dumfries.
Ashleigh’s Managing Director Alex Steel is understandably delighted with the Awards. ‘It is particularly pleasing to receive further recognition’ he said. ‘We have a total commitment to Raising Standards in everything we do and it is very satisfactory when prestigious organisations such as the NHBC recognise the standards we achieve.’
