Larkfleet Homes commits to building energy efficient homes across East of England

Larkfleet Homes claims that its houses are the most energy-efficient being built in the Peterborough and South Lincolnshire area. They say the design of Larkfleet’s properties allows householders to save six hundred pounds a year in energy bills – and with projected increasing energy costs in future, Larkfleet Homes’ properties will continue to save householders money for years to come.

Larkfleet Homes is committed to building energy efficient homes across the East Midlands and East of England. Many of Larkfleet Homes’ properties have already been built to meet the Code for Sustainable Homes level 3 ahead of statutory requirements – some 25 per cent above the current minimum standards for energy efficiency – and the company continues to innovate to ensure that it is at the forefront of energy efficient building and development. No other local builder is matching this standard, Larkfleet claims.

This high standard of environmental construction could save home owners £600 a year in energy bills compared to homes built to current Building Regulations standards by other developers.

Larkfleet Homes currently has a development of 47 properties located on the Old Laundry site on Manning Road in Bourne and 84 properties, which will include both flats and houses, at Parsons Prospect on Thorney Road in Eye. All the properties on these developments are built to meet level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and therefore could save buyers a substantial annual sum.

Properties built by Larkfleet Homes that meet the level 3 standard are constructed using timber frames manufactured and built by Kestrel Timber Frame, also part of the Larkfleet Group. The timber frame construction methods allow properties to be constructed more efficiently. The timber is sourced from sustainable forests.

Larkfleet’s Sustainability Demonstration House, located next to the company’s headquarters in Bourne, showcases many energy saving technologies that are put into practice in Larkfleet developments.
