Amiri Construction has published its annual report. Despite the difficult market conditions, the 2009 turnover of £15,020,793 (down by £2.7m) was achieved across 21 projects ranging from £139,000 to £2,840,000.

With a profit of 2% and an increase in the balance sheet, the directors are pleased to be in a strong position and relish the challenge of delivering good profits again in 2010.

“We chose the green shoot image for the cover as so far in our new financial year we have gained over £9 million worth of comprising of 16 contracts from sectors including health, education, commercial and housing,” said Managing Director Grahame Pettit. “The values are from £350,000 to £2,706,000.”

Company Secretary Kevin Lendon said that the company is well placed to meet the challenges the industry will face after the effects of the coalition governments deficit busting policies filter through to commerce.

“Our foundations are solid and built on the continued support of a great team of people within the business and a much envied on-time, on-budget track record,” said Lendon. “We could have exceeded last year’s turnover had we been driven purely by growing the size of the business. However as the image on the back cover portrays “you reap what you sow” and we are confident that our prudent policies will see us continuing to grow profitably way beyond this current recession.”

Amiri’s first annual turnover in 2005 was £2.4 million. Staffing levels have remained stable with a team of 22 since 2007.
