Liebherr to supply tower cranes for the construction of South America's highest building

Liebherr has been awarded an order to supply 13 tower cranes in the size categories between 90 and 200 mt for the building of the Costanera Center.
The Costanera Center comprising four office towers is currently being built in the Chilean capital Santiago. On completion, one of the towers will rise to a height of 300 m making it the highest building in South America and the entire southern hemisphere.
Flat-Top cranes of the EC-B series, trolley jib cranes of the EC-H series as well as luffing jib cranes of the HC-L series will be involved in the construction. The cranes will feature working radii of up to 60 m. The highest crane will be a 355 HC-L model with a hook height of 308 m.
Delivery of the Liebherr cranes will be effected from December 2006 to February 2007. Completion of the project is scheduled for 2009.
