Stone won’t be saved from VFW demo (Springfield Press)
Morton Borough Council, at last week’s agenda meeting, voted not to save the stone from the front of the old VFW post home under demolition because of the cost involved. Council hoped to save the stone from the property it acquired to build a low wall across the Morton Avenue side of the property rather than leave a “hole” in the downtown area.
